The
Hampshire Microlight Barnstorming Event

The Organisor Daryl Cornelius Year 3 , take off roll
This
years Event
Saturday
5th & Sunday 6th July 2008
What
is it all about?
The
Sport of flying Microlight’s continues to evolve; fast machines
now fly at 160mph and will carry you safely over sea and through rough
weather. These are exciting developments which empower the microlighting
movement to fly huge distances, safely and at comparatively low cost.
However,
the sport started with people flying from Farmers fields with rag and
pole machines and very little else. This event is to celibrate that
history. In the beginning was little or no training requirement, or
regulated microlight build standards and consiquently some the pioneering
pilots paid a high personal price.
Since then there has been alot of regulation that is on the whole very
welcome, we now have mandatory training & a manufaturing standard
known as "Section S" which new machines have to meet to be
given a permitt to fly. Additionally an annual technical check which
ensures the machines are maintained in good order.
This fly in is to celebrate our history and the roots of the sport.
We encourage a diverse range of Microlight’s to fly together,
just for fun. We hope you will join us by air, by road or by foot in
the coming years as this event grows.
The
location, is a field next to the sea on the south coast just a few hundred
yards from 2 pubs...it just does not get any better...
