The Hampshire Microlight Flying Club is proud to announce its support for Sandown Airfield, and designate it our official overseas base.

Sandown is one of our favourite places to visit, but it needs our continued support to prove its longer term viability.  Of course, the great welcome and cafe fare help too!

Anyone flying in (HMFC members or not; microlighters and those from other areas of aviation) should contact the Specialist Flying School - 01983 402402 - for PPR

The HMFC chooses a Charity to support each year.

In 2008 we supported the Help For Heroes campaign.  The 2009 charity support was for JACKS PLACE at Naomi House, Winchester. 2010 was The Hampshire and Isle of White Air Ambulance. http://www.hiow-airambulance.org  Charity support is an important element of the HMFC as we feel that through aviation we can do a little to help others in our community

APT Charitable Trust

Visit their site: www.disabledflying.org.uk

In 2011 our chosen charity is APT Charitable Trust. Founded in 1994 they provide training and air experience flights to Paraplegics and Tetraplegics and seriously physically disabled people. The charity is based at Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury and operates on donations alone.

Oaks Playscheme

Visit their site: www.oaksplayscheme.co.uk

In addition to our  main sponsored Charity for 2011, we are also donating the proceeds from our summer fly-in and barbecue at Colemore Common to the Oaks Special Needs Play Scheme. This scheme comprises a small group of local people who support children with special needs and their families from Petersfield and the surrounding area.
